Gosainkunda Trek Highlights
- The trek takes you to the sacred Gosaikunda Lakes, a cluster of alpine glacial lakes at an altitude of about 4,380 meters (14,370 feet).
- The main Gosaikunda Lake is considered especially sacred in Hinduism, and it attracts pilgrims during the full moon festival in August.
- The Gosaikunda Trek offers panoramic views of the Langtang Himalayan range, including peaks like Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, and others.
- The trek provides breathtaking vistas of snow-capped mountains and picturesque landscapes throughout the journey.
Gosainkunda Trek itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu:
Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Transfer to your hotel, rest, and explore the city.
Day 2: Kathmandu to Dhunche:
Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (approximately 7-8 hours).
Dhunche is the starting point of the trek.
Day 3: Dhunche to Thulo Syabru:
Trek from Dhunche to Thulo Syabru Village.
Pass through terraced fields, forests, and traditional Tamang villages.
Day 4: Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (Chandanbari):
Trek to Sing Gompa (also known as Chandanbari).
Explore the local monastery and enjoy mountain views.
Day 5: Sing Gompa to Laurebinayak:
Trek to Laurebinayak, ascending through rhododendron and pine forests.
Reach the alpine meadows and set up camp for acclimatization.
Day 6: Laurebinayak to Gosaikunda:
Cross the Laurebinayak Pass and descend to Gosaikunda Lakes.
Visit the sacred lakes and enjoy the surrounding views.
Day 7: Gosaikunda to Ghopte:
Trek to Ghopte, passing through rugged landscapes.
Cross a high ridge and descend to the village.
Day 8: Ghopte to Tharepati:
Trek to Tharepati through lush forests and picturesque landscapes.
Enjoy panoramic mountain views along the way.
Day 9: Tharepati to Kutumsang:
Continue trekking to Kutumsang, descending through forests and terraced fields.
Pass through several Tamang villages.
Day 10: Kutumsang to Chisapani:
Trek to Chisapani, offering views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges.
Enjoy the serene environment of the village.
Day 11: Chisapani to Sundarijal and Drive to Kathmandu:
Trek to Sundarijal and catch a vehicle to Kathmandu.
Explore Kathmandu or rest after the trek.
Day 12: Departure:
Depart from Kathmandu.
