Gokyo-Ri Trek itinerary
Day 1-2: Arrival in Kathmandu:
Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Take a day for trek preparations, obtaining necessary permits, and exploring the city.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding:
Take an early morning flight to Lukla.
Begin trekking to Phakding, a small village along the Dudh Koshi River.
Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar:
Continue trekking to Namche Bazaar, the main hub of the Khumbu region.
Acclimatization day in Namche.
Day 5: Trek to Dole:
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole.
Enjoy the views of the Khumbu Valley and surrounding peaks.
Day 6: Trek to Machermo:
Continue trekking to Machermo, passing through rhododendron forests.
Begin to feel the effects of higher altitude.
Day 7: Acclimatization in Machermo:
Acclimatization day in Machermo.
Short hikes for acclimatization and rest.
Day 8: Trek to Gokyo:
Trek from Machermo to Gokyo.
Reach the stunning Gokyo Lakes and the village of Gokyo.
Day 9: Acclimatization and Rest Day in Gokyo:
Acclimatization day in Gokyo.
Hike to Gokyo Ri or explore the Gokyo Lakes.
Day 10: Trek to Dragnag:
Trek from Gokyo to Dragnag.
Pass the Ngozumpa Glacier on the way.
Day 11: Cross Cho La Pass and Trek to Dzongla:
Cross the challenging Cho La Pass.
Descend to Dzongla, enjoying panoramic views.
Day 12: Trek to Lobuche:
Trek from Dzongla to Lobuche.
Join the Everest Base Camp trail.
Day 13: Trek to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp:
Trek to Gorak Shep and continue to Everest Base Camp.
Return to Gorak Shep for the night.
Day 14: Hike to Kala Patthar and Trek to Pheriche:
Early morning hike to Kala Patthar for sunrise views.
Descend to Pheriche.
Day 15: Trek to Namche Bazaar:
Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar.
Enjoy the last views of the Everest region peaks.
Day 16: Trek to Lukla:
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla.
Reflect on the journey and celebrate the accomplishment.
Day 17: Fly back to Kathmandu:
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Rest or explore Kathmandu.
Day 18: Departure:
