Annapurna Base CAmp -trip itinerary
The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is a spectacular journey through the Annapurna region of Nepal, taking you to the base camp of the world’s tenth highest mountain. The trek usually takes about 10 to 14 days, depending on the specific itinerary, acclimatization needs, and starting point.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Transfer to your hotel and attend a trek briefing.
Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara
Drive or fly to Pokhara, the starting point for the trek.
Explore Pokhara and enjoy the lakeside ambiance.
Day 3: Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,480m/4,855ft)
Drive to Nayapul and start trekking.
Trek to Tikhedhunga via Birethanti.
Day 4: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,860m/9,383ft)
Ascend the steep stone staircase of Ulleri.
Continue through rhododendron forests to reach Ghorepani.
Day 5: Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3,210m/10,532ft) and Tadapani (2,630m/8,629ft)
Early morning hike to Poon Hill for sunrise views.
Return to Ghorepani and trek to Tadapani through rhododendron forests.
Day 6: Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,170m/7,119ft)
Descend through forests and terraced fields.
Reach Chhomrong, a Gurung village with views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare.
Day 7: Chhomrong to Bamboo (2,310m/7,579ft)
Descend to the Chhomrong Khola and ascend to Sinuwa.
Continue through bamboo and rhododendron forests to reach Bamboo.
Day 8: Bamboo to Deurali (3,230m/10,597ft)
Trek through dense forests and alongside the Modi Khola.
Reach Deurali, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.
Day 9: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,550ft)
Ascend through the Machapuchare Base Camp.
Reach Annapurna Base Camp with spectacular views of Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and other peaks.
Day 10: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo
Enjoy sunrise views at ABC.
Descend back to Bamboo.
Day 11: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,760m/5,774ft)
Descend to Chhomrong and continue to Jhinu Danda.
Relax in the natural hot springs near Jhinu Danda.
Day 12: Jhinu Danda to Nayapul, drive to Pokhara
Descend to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara.
Explore Pokhara or rest after the trek.
